M.2 Drives

So I'm now considering getting an M.2 drive for my system (no real reason other than to give it a go). Any suggestions on a drive, things I should avoid or things I should double check before adding one to my build?

 

Edit: and I should look to go NVMe over SATA I presume?

Do you want it pre-installed with Win95(a,b & c), 98(SE), ME, Vista, W8(.1) and W10 or will you be supplying your own corrupted OS?

I thought I'd start at 3.1 and work up from there? It's the only way to get the classic software!

I got a Samsung 970 NVME m.2 in my new build, its fast, I'm glad i got a 1TB, any smaller and id be regretting it. Can Recommend highly. Plus has the added bonus of no cables and stuff, god forbid if i have to open the side panel on my case...

Make sure you get the correct type of M.2 drive for your motherboard too...

I have noticed while looking at them that the connector has slightly changed over time.

 

My motherboard is still sitting with that slot free too, waiting for me to pick one up.

Just haven't seen the need just yet.

Ebay currently have 20% selected electronics, so I took the chance to grab a Samsung 970 EVO NVMe drive.
