I think the open Beta comes out tomorrow for everyone. Just people that signed up get it a day early.

 

 

Well after finally getting it off my son and having a quick play I think its great. I played a bit of all classes and all have there place on the field. I think I'll actually play different classes more then I did in BF4.

Runs really really well and I'm getting an average of  about 160+ frames on Ultra and its smooth as butter. No lag and hit registry is great. Only negative I've had is a few spots on rocks not hitting due to invisible barrier stopping bullets. Rush is fun but conquest is where the real action is. I'll be playing the shit out of it

Played a round. Game feels completely different to what BF4 feels and plays like.. This one seems more tactical? Least that's how I feel about it. Liking the weapons available to use, I'm hoping that you can remove the scopes from the sniper rifles, would totally love to run around as aggressive recon with a Lee Enfield

Played a few hours tonight. Quite fun. Feels odd playing a BF game after so long of a break.

 

I'm finding it hard to spot people on the map after playing so much Overwatch where everyone stands out so well!

 

The menu is buggy/laggy. Find myself having to select things multiple times and hitting esc more times than needed due to it being so unresponsive and awkward. Game play wise it seems to run quite smooth. There's odd graphical glitches where belts/ammo etc are "rubberbanding/stretcting" from the payer model.

 

Climbing rocks/walls feels off. Like the player is not actually making contact but is a foot off the wall while he's climbing.

 

Nothing game breaking yet!

Idk if I can go back to this type of shooter after overwatch. The idea of playing another bf kinda bores me. Essentially it's just another re-skin with a few new mechanics right?

I've been enjoying it, but I've only had a chance for a few quick rounds.

It feels like you die a lot easier than BF4, which I suppose can be explained by the lack of armour at the time.

Hit rego has been fairly decent. It'll be nice once you can add attachments to weapons and customise them, as I don't really like any guns yet.

Horses are OP, pls nerf.

 

It was nice to spawn into a game of BF again, and see plenty of planes overhead and lots of vehicles around. It feels like it'll be chaotic, in that great Battlefield way.

I downloaded this and had a go last night, my impressions:-

 

It is different, and a much slower paced game than BF3/BF4 where you are working as a squad and may spend most of a round gaining/holding/defending one or two points. Rather than staying in front in conquest by cycling point to point quickly to keep the enemy chasing their tail.

Far different playstyle needed from BF3/BF4 - I don't think you will see 100+ kills in a round, again moving through deliberately was rewarded as opposed to run and gun with revives

No one revives - the medic class is pretty rubbish, not alot of benefit on the scoreboard, the weapons were terrible and the revive mechanics not alot better

Too many obscure points on cliff walls / mountainsides for sniper to sit at and pick people off

Weapon range (excl sniper) was quite short which was good that you cannot be shotguned/LMG'd from long distance but meant that unless you were in a tank, you stuck to buildings.

Tanks are pretty OP if they stay on the move and are hard to disable as infantry although only the driver can repair (ie no engineer class) and it does take considerable time to repair.

The planes were a bit the same - especially of the AA had been taken out, a good pilot was dominating

The menu for me was terrible - in game if you esc to the main menu to change a setting etc it took what seemed like an eternity (could have been up to 10 secs)

I was running at about 80-90 FPS (GTX 770 classified) so you dont need to "build" unless this changes form the beta

The gameplay did not blow me away - it played like a new franchise first release, but did not build on all the work (mechanics, etc) done over the last 5 years in BF3/BF4

 

The most enjoyable part was playing with clannies - the comms, working together, hilarious moments, etc at the moment this would be the driver to buying

Shooting enemy as they climbed to the top of the ladder of the roof I was on, knowing how frustrating that would be if I was on the other side, was far more enjoyable than it should have been.

I wouldn't have played as long as I did last night if I wasn't on TS talking shit while we were shooting.

Enjoyed it, but then I hardly played BF3 or 4...

 

Also I suck, I don't think I had a round with a K/D ratio of greater than 1... usually it was under .5

I played this a fair bit today. I liked it once I got my head around it all. I agree with PK to a point about medic class which is all I have really played. However once you play medic class a bit you unlock better med packs etc which make it more worthwhile. I will be buying this game at some point

Upgrading the weapons is a must. I've found that apparently you only rank up Classes for the first game you play then it becomes unranked. Another small glitch. But apparently you can buy weapons with some sort of ingame currency on the battlefield website or something. The base gun is rather bad.

Mini pointed out the other night if you log into battlefiled.com, click on career, select BF1 and then loadout you can buy and pretty much unlock anything you want

I looked into that further... it appears that you use the in-game currency... but you don't have to have the rankings that you do in-game

 

All in all I unlocked a lot of new guns and secondary weapons... the anti tank gun comes in bloody handy...
