Which, incidentally, is when Roll The Dice was formed. Thank Christ it was the last week of Term 2 when everything went down at wG|. It basically gave me the full holidays to then set up as much as we could (without having to worry about school).

Ramsay, it's definitely a fps, but it has a touch of moba (dota, lol), that is to say that picking a characters to counter others and playing you role are paramount to winning. It is a lot harder to jump on by yourself and have fun than a cod. Also the knowledge that often you will die not because you were not the better player, but because you were the wrong character in the wrong situation.

It's just got that blizzard polished yo it as well so I'd say if you buy it you won't regret it.

PC Patch Notes

 

McCree

Peacekeeper - Alternate fire

  • Recovery time (i.e. the amount of time before McCree starts reloading) decreased from 0.75 seconds to 0.3 seconds
  • Bullet damage decreased from 70 to 45 (Probably reverse patch form this)

Developer Comments: McCree was performing too well against all targets, making him feel like a must-pick in many situations. By reducing the damage of his alternate fire, McCree is now significantly weaker against tanks like Roadhog and Reinhardt, but still maintains his lethality against smaller targets like Tracer and Genji.

 

WidowMaker
Widow’s Kiss - Alternate fire (Scoped Shot)

  • Base damage decreased from 15 to 12 (Note: Scoped shot damage multiplier remains unchanged)
  • Headshot damage multiplier increased from 2x to 2.5x
  • Players must now wait for the unscoping animation to completely finish before scoping

Infra-Sight (Ult)

  • Ultimate charge cost increased by 10%

Developer Comments: In the right hands, Widowmaker can often feel unstoppable—even when just landing body shots instead of critical heads shots. The changes to her alternate fire weaken body shot damage while leaving her headshot damage unchanged. Additionally, we felt her Ultimate ability, Infra-Sight, was coming up a little too frequently, especially considering its impact on the game. *

 

Bug Fixed

General

  • Improved stability of the High Bandwidth option in Custom Games

Heroes

  • Fixed a bug that allowed Mercy to gain Ultimate charge whenever damage boosting an ally who was attacking a barrier or Ice Wall
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Reaper to Shadow Step to unintended locations on a certain maps

Maps

  • Fixed an issue with collision on certain areas of Dorado not blocking line of sight

Thanks for the patch notes BP! I didn't think that Widowmaker was doing too much damage but it does change her closer to the sniper (headshot kills) mentality. I would have liked them to buff DVA a bit through making her weapon spread smaller.

Agree on Widowmaker, I know that for any DPS player it was a good body shot with a quick shot after and they were almost always down... this might remove that a bit.

And the McRee one I can understand, he was way to powerful against a tank...

Break down - borrowed from reddit!

0:01 - 0:54 - Hello and thank you, many players
0:55 - 1:00 - Mentions Spectate mode improvements being worked on for both broadcasting and observing
1:00 - 1:45 - Competitive is coming at the end of June, Quick Play is default mess-around mode; Competitive is serious, focused effort
1:45 - 2:24 - Beta tested format feedback, not competitive enough; wanted more clear true rank
2:25 - 3:40 - Season length is 2.5 months with a break between seasons - spring, summer, fall, winter
3:41 - 5:24 - Formats within competitive play - many modes - no specific details yet. Sudden Death too often (felt 50%, statistically 35%). Want to minimize it, not happening every 2 or 3 games. Sudden death will resolve on the map you 'tied' on. Dorado tiebreaker will be on Dorado, example.
5:25 - 6:08 - Double cap "assault" maps (Volskaya, Hanamura, Anubis) felt too coin-flippy. Maps will last longer and have more chance of back-and-forth, no specifics yet.
6:09 - 8:55 - 'Progression vs skill' - couldn't lose a tier, only rank inside a tier. Feedback says too grindy, where am I relative to other players. No more tiers, will use MMR to directly correlate to new 'skill rating' between 1-100. Will show 'skill rating' of you and others in the game. Team avg. skill rating shown. Skewed toward gaining more than losing when facing higher average 'skill rating'. No assumptions on party size, will show groups.
8:56 - 10:17 - Downside of this system is you will go down sometimes (oh nooooo!); competitive players want it, and if it's not liked please give feedback. They want a 10/10 competitive experience as well. Changes can be made during season breaks.
10:18 - 11:20 - Competitive rewards?! No power gains, but "awesome" cosmetic rewards planned. Very cool customized "GOLDEN GUN SYSTEM"! Unlockable, best players will earn before others. Some will be top tier ONLY.
11:21 - 11:46 - More info soon, answering what questions they can. Excited for the future. Thanks.

Haha, I've had that happen to me once in the same spot except against a Pharah. I avoid that roof part most times now xD
