Yeah I really liked it. Have never found a good replacement. I did download a series called Flashpoint, but never got around to watching it so don't know if it was any good. Probably wouldn't compare though.

Hi everyone,

 

Are there any good shows on? Game Of Thrones is a year long wait. I'll be one foot in the grave before that series ends. I was watching Defiance and Walking Dead, but both of those series are finished until the next season,

 

Is there anything decent people would recommend? (Seen all the stuff like seen all the various incarnations of Star Trek, Star Gate, Babylon 5, Firefly, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, etc). Unless I've missed a classic, kinda looking for something new.

You are the devil Shrivey. Blue Heelers and Water Rats....*adds to the list* I used to watch BH and  try to stay up late to watch Water Rats when it was on. Good shows.

 

Shrivey, since we're talking about cop shows I'll give you(and Fuz) one of the best recent cop drama shows to watch too: Line of Duty It's about an anti corruption unit investigating a top inspector. Excellent acting. It's about 5 eps too, short and very sweet.

Anyone watch The League? I've watched the first 2 seasons and think it's pretty decent. Comedy about a NFL fantasy league. Season 6 has just started.

i seen the ad for this on Fox8 last night, totally keen for this now!

Yeah I've been keeping a close eye on this ever since it was announced. I was hoping to get one more season from Clone Wars though, but that was all scraped upon the Disney takeover (leaving some plots unresolved). I'm not going to complain at this point about more Star Wars, but I just hope it lives up to expectations.

It's going to take some getting used to. All the characters look compressed, the storm troopers especially. They just don't look right.... But i look forward to more SW!

Looks interesting. I'll definitely watch it but I can tell this is going to be very different to The Clone Wars.

 

The Clone Wars was really mature and serious for a kids cartoon. People died and got betrayed. Characters had a lot of depth.

 

It looks like this show is going to be a lot more cartoony. The Imperial officers and troops seem more exaggerated and goofish to the point of being intellectually stupid. The kid is like a futuristic version of Aladdin, even looks like Aladdin. $50 bucks says Aladdin hooks up with the hot chick in the pink Mandalorian armour. (Trust me, it's that obvious. The only reason she didn't shoot him to retrieve the cargo she risked her life to steal is because there would be no possibility of him boning her later on if she shot him dead. It's most impressive how she didn't let a life threatening situation stop her from thinking through the long term implications her actions have upon her love life). Yea, it'll be a way to pass the time but it's definitely going to be different. Don't think I'll like it as much.

 

PS. High five Blue for reaching the same conclusion as me about the kid looking like Aladdin! Seriously the show is so slap schtick that it is this " " close to Space Aladdin breaking out into a musical rendition of One Jump Ahead: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0wH4ZCdce0 (I tried inserting as a link but the forum kept freezing on me and refusing to insert. weird. I had to type out the link too because copy and paste doesn't work! Grrrr!)

My only issue with it is that it looks like it will be a side thing, not the true rise of the Rebellion. It's a story of a group surviving during the rise of the Empire. It's stuff that happens between ROTS and ANH but doesn't build up to ANH like the clone wars was doing. In The Clone Wars you saw the progression of Anakin from being a Jedi to being consumed by his passion and hate.

Phoby, did you end up watching Spooks at all? I've started it after watching Modern Spies and I'm really enjoying it.

 

I've also started watching Community - it's filled the half-hour comedy spot in my schedule very well.

Gotham came out yesterday and new season of Marvel will come out today.

Need more of gotham before i decide.

Let me know if you'd recommend Gotham in the future. Not sure if I'd be a fan or not, as I don't know as much about the DC universe.
