I'm up to book 9 of the 15 book series. They are huge and so many characters to remember. I am enjoying it though.

 

The show started off strong, love the casting and the evil creatures look great. Was down with a lot of the changes they made because it fit with characters or made sense in the world.

But the last few episodes really got to me (apart from the fight scene at the start of one of the episodes, what a great scene). I get that they can't follow the books exactly but they are really fucking with things.

They killed major characters that don't die (9 books in anyway) and made some characters go against type (Moraine would never want Mat to go to the red sisters) The actor for Mat quit  filming mid series so I guess that explains character just bailing on a off moment and some sloppyness in the latter end.

 

They also really go into the fact that you can't bring someone back from the dead. It's a very big plot point in the books and Rand has a huge character moment over it. They do it twice in the first season.

 

 

 

I'm glad you enjoyed it because more fans of the series the better I guess.

I see the potential but I can't help wondering if COVID and a main cast character leaving really effected the show.

I hope it gets picked up for a second season.

Yeah I'm really hoping (and presuming) they've got a few seasons in them at least. But competing with The Rings of Power could be difficult too. That I certainly have high hopes for and is an immediate 10 on my watch list.

I just finished the final season of The Expanse. Very, very sad to see it go. I'm tempted to pick up the books in the future. Definitely one of my favourite TV shows and a high quality sci-fi.

I enjoyed the final, definitely one of the best shows I've seen in a while.

TV shows I'm on at the moment:

 

Foundation - excellent sci-fi series. Definitely worth a look, especially if you enjoy digging into lore etc.

 

Shining Girls - just started this one, but will definitely mess with your head.

 

Serverance - also an interesting one. Sarah in particular liked this.

 

I feel a bit dirty saying it, but all are on Apple TV (which we got for free for three months).
