JoJo Rabbit and Knives out and John wick 3 where my highlights of last year.

John wick had the freshest action ideas i have seen in a long time.

Just watched 1917. Very, very good movie. Highly recommend. The cinematography and storytelling via framing is impeccable.  Made by the director/cinematographer duo that made Skyfall (Sam Mendes and Roger Deakins respectively)

I believe the movie was filmed in a "one" take style? If that makes sense, I'm keen to see it, but at the moment im tossing up if i should see that or Bad Boys 3

Correct,it's a "1 shot". They have some unbelievable camera tracking.

I would love to see how they managed to do some of those shots.

I just watched The Mule last night on Netflix. I put it on a bit after midnight, as I was just after a movie to watch part of before bed. Turns out that was a mistake, as I couldn't stop watching. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and now I plan to go and watch a fair chunk of Eastwood's back catalogue.

Finally got around to watching John Wick 3... damn the action scenes in these movies have been fantastic.

Absolutely loved it and really setup for another one.

The John Wick movies just get better and better.

I was a bit "meh" on the first one the first time I watched it.  Felt like another tied old action movie (maybe I had made my mind up before watching it)

But the last two made me go back and re-watch it and I was so wrong. Love the Hit Man lore they have in it and the action and stunts are up there with the best.

No. 3 Just takes it to a whole new level!

I watched Greyhound last night. It was really interesting seeing part of the war I don't know much about. Only 1.5 hours and pretty action packed.

If anyone listens to the Hardcore History podcast, Tom Hanks was interviewed on Dan's second channel which was also a great listen.

I recently watched that as well! I loved it from after the first contact! Gave me the itch to watch BoB and The Pacific again

Here's a real random one: anyone watched Hamilton on Disney+?

I'm not really a fan of musicals, but my interest in history and politics won me over. Actually very well done and a very talented cast.

Only had it on replay in the back ground and took over my spottily playlist for 3 weeks strait.

It deserves all the praise it gets. SO many cool things about it.

I have never seen a musical use choreography for one song, then re-wind it and use the same choreography for the next song from a different point of view before. Spectacular.

This might have been posted in the YouTube channel, but five months later I finally got around to watching it:

Very funny and a nice little addition to the extras from the DVDs etc.

Also, there's a 4K release of all the LOTR and Hobbit movies coming out on the 1st of December. I've told Sarah to set aside the first available weekend.

Who has seen Tenet?

At first I wasn't sure it was going to live up to the hype, but I watched it last night and by the end I was fully intrigued.

Spoiler

The idea of a "time" pincer movement was just fantastic.

The whole movie was a very interesting look at the flow of time, as well as cause and effect.

This must have been hugely complicated to shoot. I hope to see some behind the scenes stuff one day.

Cassie and I actually saw this release week in an actual cinema with other people in it!!

It was an interesting concept and I feel like it was well executed, not a sci fi action movie that many could watch and enjoy but overall all really good!

That first gun shot scared the crap out of me, so I can only imagine what it did to a room full of people.

If I remember correctly we both jumped as well 😂

How High was Nolan when he made this? Cool moments. Poor characters, main character didn't eve have a name (imdb has it has "the protagonist).

True! The story and characters were a bit flimsy 😅

Yeah I was thinking that in the first half, as it all moved very quickly. But I liked the concept that much that I didn't really care at the end.
