Duckz 474 Report post Posted February 18, 2017 First heard about it about 6 months ago, and watched it when it became "available" about 5 weeks ago. I really enjoyed it too. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post

Duckz 474 Report post Posted March 8, 2017 If you're into political drama/thrillers, Miss Sloane might be worth a watch. I just finished watching it, and thought it was good. It reminded me a little bit of State of Play. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post

MasterShrive 2,012 Report post Posted May 26, 2017 Just watched Fate Of The Furious with Curly (I think Nhill got this one in pretty good time). I thought it was fantastic. I dunno how they've managed it, but everything just came together wonderfully, even after losing on of their main characters. Clearly there's a lot to come in the next movie (I think they've confirmed two more) - but I can't see how they'll end up topping this. My only small gripe was how they seemed to forgive Statham's character a little too quickly - given it wasn't that long ago and they were chasing him down for murdering his friend. MasterShrive 2,012 Report post Posted June 14, 2017 Over the last week on Netflix I've watched The Big Short and then Inside Job. Both are about the GFC - the first a movie about those who saw it coming and the second is a documentary about how we got to that point, why it went down and what's happened since (hint: not much apparently). Anyway, if you have an interest in politics they're both worth a watch in my opinion. 3 Go to top Share this post Link to post
Penchamus 411 Report post Posted June 14, 2017 Both movies do a pretty good job of explaining an incredibly complicated situation in financial markets, The Big Short was actually a part of a unit I did at uni! I preferred The Big Short because it's still pretty entertaining considering the content. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
MasterShrive 2,012 Report post Posted June 15, 2017 Yeah I'm glad I watched them in that order. The Big Short was very good at explaining what was going on and then Inside Job helped reinforce that. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
Penchamus 411 Report post Posted June 15, 2017 Plus, you know, Margot Robbie is a babe. I'd let her talk financial instruments to me anyday. 3 Go to top Share this post Link to post

Phobos 1,208 Report post Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) ^ Bright is next on my list. I watched Dunkirk on New Years. Amazing, I think Nolan's best work. It's different, not much dialogue as the cinematography does the story telling. One of the top war movies made in my opinion. Blade Runner 2049 - One of the exceptions to the rule that sequels are flops. This one was excellent, very true to the original. Same sort of art style in the way it's filmed. Notice how we're starting to get these style of movies? Very cinematic style. Edited January 2, 2018 by Phobos Go to top Share this post Link to post
MasterShrive 2,012 Report post Posted January 2, 2018 Yeah good point. They need to differentiate themselves from TV these days. I must get onto Blade Runner 2049 as well. Go to top Share this post Link to post

MasterShrive 2,012 Report post Posted September 20, 2018 I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but I just finished watching Upgrade and found it very interesting. If you're a fan of Black Mirror I definitely suggest you give this as watch. Great action and a solid plot as well. Go to top Share this post Link to post
