I watched it with Pench this arvo. I'm easy to please, so enjoyed the film. I didn't mind the length, but I can see why some are complaining about that. Likewise with the action being sporadic and sparse throughout the film.

 

I'll be interested to see how DC go with their extended universe, as they've got a lot to live up to.

Saw Batman v Superman on Thursday.

Best part was the cool Bohemian Rhapsody trailer for Suicide Squad before the movie and worst part was Jessie Facebook as Lex Luthor. The dream sequence was weird but it was also the only true interesting part of the movie to me. My wife also thinks Henry Cavill is hot but only when he is talking in his fake American accent. His real English accent absolutely ruins it for her... oh and Holly Hunter was super good, as always.

The missus and i went and seen Bad Neighbours 2 this evening, as per usual it's filled with a lot weed references as you get in just about every Seth Rogan movie, it has its moments, but overall it has it does have funny moments. First one was better, I'd say wait til the BluRay/DVD/Download release. MrsLaw: 6/10. MrLaw: 5/10.

Legit, my missus is watching that right now, i walked passed the room and turned the light off...... i've never heard a blood curling scream before... until now. Looks like im on the couch tonight.

Independence Day 2.

 

Didn't have high expectations with this film.. but it was better than i originally thought it was going to be, glad that there were some of the actors from the first film returned, wasn't too impressed with the fact that Will Smith didn't return either and the fact that they didn't really explain how he died (i had to google a timeline of events to work it out). 

 

The plot wasn't really the best, it had its holes.... like the fact that Dr Oakden was in a coma for 20 years, and considering 99% of people thought he died in the first film... ironically the film finishes in the same location as the first one... would of been cooler if it finished in space imo, the fact that Jasmine (the stripper from the first film) is now a dr and than dies was completely unnecessary to the film.

 

The newer generation of characters are pretty cool, the first daughter, will smiths son and the others... definitely leaves it open for a 3rd film! Liam Hemsworth's role was different.... trying to be the funny guy that Will Smith was in the first one? You've got some shoes to fill there buddy! 


Overall i'd say this film is worth the watch, but it doesn't really have any decent one liners that i could quote to other people who are fans of the film, like i can with the first one. My club rating for this would have to be 6/10.

Just finished watching Magnificent Seven. Excellent film! really enjoyed this one right from the get go. 9/10

Watched Hacksaw Ridge during the week. Amazing film - can't recommend it highly enough, especially for anyone who likes Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, etc. I'm yet to look through the wiki page for more background details, but this guy's story seems amazing.

Randomly watched the new Ghostbusters last night. Really, really liked it. Thought it had enough throwbacks to the old ones but had enough funny moments to stand on its own. Worth a watch.

I haven't see the originals in a long, long time and wouldn't call myself a massive fan, but I did enjoy it. I'm also very easy to please though.

It's fine, it isnt horrible and it isnt fantastic but it passable. I liked Hemswroth in it even though if gender roles were reversed i feel people would be anoyed.

Saw a great and unexpected movie last night. Dad recommended we go see Hidden Figures. I'd literally heard nothing about it. But if you like topics such as the space race, NASA, computers, programming or civil rights then I strongly suggest giving it a look.
