MasterShrive 2,015 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 Yeah I did like the way it went down, but still, a part of me was hoping for a fight. I think you're right that Maul went looking for death as well. Obi Wan's stance was a favourite of mine too. Of interest, McGregor has said he's open to playing the character again. I think Disney would almost be foolish not to do a standalone film with him, presuming the story was up to scratch. Canon that Palpatine didn't die? Do you mean the cloning from the old novels? As that is certainly out. Either way, HE was dead at the end of VI, but they bought him back a couple of ways in the EU. I think the whole "Chosen One" thing also depends on how you define "balance to the force". As what that really looks like is up for debate. Seeing Obi Wan so effortlessly dispatch of Maul also made me wonder, now that he is (probably) at the peak of his power, how would he go toe to toe with Sidious? Phobos 1,209 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 (edited) Seeing Obi Wan so effortlessly dispatch of Maul also made me wonder, now that he is (probably) at the peak of his power, how would he go toe to toe with Sidious? Without a doubt, Ob1 would lose to Sidious. He was arguably the best. He bested Yoda don't forget. That force lightning is OP.....screw you Pench and your Hut Ball Sith zappy stun lightning - I still have PTSD. Edited March 28, 2017 by Phobos 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
Noods 290 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 The part where Maul said "He will avenge us", I had to look around what it meant. I guess all this stuff he's been through, especially with Savage. It's a nice way to think of it, since Luke does "kill" Palpatine. Is it canon that Palaptine didn't really die or was that scrapped? Yeah I think Maul in the end was after revenge on Palpatine as well as Obi1. In the Clone wars Maul and his brother face off with Palpitine and his brother is killed. So I guess he died with some peace knowing Palpatine was going to get his yet. In the comics Dark Force Rising (was that a book too Shrives?) Palpatine used clones to resurrect himself but that EU is no longer cannon. I haven't read anything yet in the new Cannon that suggests Palpatine survived but....... some fan theory's on Snoke??? Personally I don't think so. Seeing Obi Wan so effortlessly dispatch of Maul also made me wonder, now that he is (probably) at the peak of his power, how would he go toe to toe with Sidious? Hmm yeah I think Sidious would best OB1. Remember Maul was still just an apprentice when he first got cut down by OB1 so never finished his training, and the second time he was pretty downtrodden. Actually come to think of it Darth Vader was still only an apprentice wasn't he? I never understood the Sith. According to Mace Windu in ep1 there is always only 2 a master and an apprentice. So if you were training an apprentice who would eventually want to be a master aren't the Sith really just training up someone who will eventually want to kill them and take the power of the Sith for themselves? Maybe thats how they stay stong? 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
MasterShrive 2,015 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 The rule of two - a master and an apprentice. Of course, by the time we get to the OT, Vader is a pretty highly trained apprentice And there's also plenty of exceptions to that rule of two as well. But yes, ultimately, you are training your replacement. And if they take on the master, but fail, then the master will just go looking for another one to train up (as Sidious did with the "death" of Maul, as well as the death of Dooku). Personally, I don't buy into the whole "Sidious beat Yoda" thing. I think both were holding their own and neither had the advantage, but Yoda realised that a) there were clone troopers on the way that would turn the odds, and bringing down the Sith wasn't going to occur under his watch, but that it was now his job to usher in the next generation. RE Obi, don't under estimate his power. He literally cut through Maul like a hot knife through butter. Maul obviously wasn't up to the task... but Obi is also a guy who has spent the last twenty years being trained by a Force ghost to become "more powerful than you could possibly imagine". Obi was holding his own against Vader before he decided to go down the ghost route, and as we saw at the end of Rogue One, Vader is no slouch. I think he could have taken Vader, but like Yoda realised that he needed to go down a different path if he was ultimately to aid in the defeat of the Sith. And now I'm off to watch the season finale :D 2 Go to top Share this post Link to post

Blueberry 444 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 Stories of cloning dead people are lazy storytelling devices and should die in a fire. 2 Go to top Share this post Link to post
MasterShrive 2,015 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 Agree. However, as I recall, it was an interesting read, and "clones" are established in the SW universe so it's not as far fetched as some other stories. Anyway, I finished the finale last night. Obi Wan's appearance is certainly the highlight for me - I might even go back and watch it again I think (along with that Sidious and Maul fight). It was a pretty action packed finale though - worthy of Star Wars. Are we going to see more of Bendu in the future? And I wonder what this defeat for Thrawn will look like. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post

Phobos 1,209 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 (edited) I think I'll refer to Blue on this one. Btw, the first game was the most shallow theme park of a game I've ever played. Excellent sound and graphics, dull and boring everything else. More like Battleflop Sorry for being negative, I think it's their formula of the game that makes it so dull. They can't change it, so it'll always be the same and now with single player and Yoda. http://swbstats.com Did anyone enjoy the game? I'm curious to hear Edited April 15, 2017 by Phobos Cleaned up! MasterShrive 2,015 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 The game did not get much playtime from me. No server browser killed it. I am very reluctant to even look at the second one. As for the next movie, I'm certainly interested and guess we'll see how it all plays out. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
MiniSanders 588 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 http://swbstats.com Did anyone enjoy the game? I'm curious to hear I have enjoyed playing it split screen with my brother on his PS4, and I own it but have hardly played it on PC. Felt more like a console game (Even if I suck at aiming with a controller...) 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
Noods 290 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 I enjoyed it on the consol for about a month. Then got over it! As u said very shallow game. I got all the dlc and haven't even tried it all. I think if they released it all at once it might have been enough. I mean the game play felt ok but something was just missing. Didnt really like how the vehicle spawns work either. Ill have a geezer at 2 but ill be waiting for reviews and feedback. 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post
Penchamus 411 Report post Posted April 15, 2017 I'll flat out buy it most likely, it's got a new canon storyline that I have a feeling is based off one of the new books so that's enough to warrant me buying it! I've found I'm becoming a lot more casual with my gaming so something I can just drop into in multiplayer and be half decent at will be right for me Go to top Share this post Link to post
MasterShrive 2,015 Report post Posted April 16, 2017 In other news, the Season 4 trailer is out for Rebels. Apparently this will be the last season - which makes me wonder where they'll go next? Go to top Share this post Link to post

That would be awesome. We'll wait and see how it turns out. They've also set a date before the movie again, another hard deadline to cut features out... In other news, the Season 4 trailer is out for Rebels. Apparently this will be the last season - which makes me wonder where they'll go next? Well, there goes that 7 season theory. Last season, wow..... 15 episodes this time instead of 22. Edited April 16, 2017 by Phobos Go to top Share this post Link to post
MasterShrive 2,015 Report post Posted April 16, 2017 Oh really? I'd only read that on Facebook, so wasn't sure how reliable it was. I imagine they'll come out with another cartoon series - we've had one for ten years now and they've proved popular. But I wonder if it might be set in the ST era instead? With perhaps a nice tie in with the final movie (which they'd have a season to build towards)? Disney might want to do what they've achieved with Agents of SHIELD in regards to how it ties in to new release movies? It's also worth considering that we have not see any of the "big three" in the cartoons yet - it would be one way to have Princess Leia on screen for the foreseeable future for example. And Han (depending on the setting). Go to top Share this post Link to post
TheLaw 860 Report post Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) Do i get on the hype train? or do i wait.... I'm definitely not pre ordering SWBF2, i want DICE to give me a few things before i do decide if im gonna buy it. Server Browser. Remove the stupid vehicle/hero tokens Better offline play options. A system similar to BF1's where a non season pass holder can play on DLC maps aslong as they are in a party with a friend who owns the season pass. (Note: XP and DLC weapons are locked, the XP earned will be given upon purchasing the season pass) Thats all i can think of at this point. As for episode 8, i may have died a little inside when i watched the trailer. I'm keen to see if Kylo is less emo/moody teenager, and im also keen to see who Rey's parents are/were im going with the theroy that shes related to Obi Wan Edited April 17, 2017 by TheLaw 1 Go to top Share this post Link to post

This mode will allow two players to play together locally and earn upgrades that can be transferred to the online multiplayer experience. Well.... Im glad there wont be a season pass. Ediit: It appears that they were wrong about the offline play being limited to consoles, dont trust Google Translator for everything kiddies.
