Thats Star Craft. Koreans are actually kinda bad at Dota... See this is the sorta sloppy and poorly thought out banter that lack of exposure creates!

Sorry Sponty, but I doubt that you will get any one to play much Dota at the moment, while everyone is playing Overwatch or Rocket League.

The main event of the Manila Major starts today for the Dota 2 fan(s).

This is the 3rd of 3 Majors overseen by Valve but produced by various event organizers and will culminate in The International later in the year which currently has a prize pool of 10 million US dollars but is expected to hit 20-21 million by August. The Manila Major is being produced by PGL who have done an insane job thus far! The production team are really going above and beyond with making an E-sports event look and feel comparable to professional sporting events. This event will be tied for the 4th biggest E-sports events of all time! The first 3 also being Dota 2 tournaments!

After many discussions within the RtD Dota 2 team we have decided to formally support Team Alliance for this event, so get on board everyone. Here is a Video made by SirActionSlacks that will bring everyone up to speed on who they are and where they have come from. They had a fairly rocky start in the group stage and will be starting in the lower bracket so good luck to Alliance!

If you want to keep up to date Here is the bracket as well as Here is a Google calendar of all the games so you don't miss any!

Those of you who want to catch up with any of the games you have missed then here is a reddit thread with links to VODS of all the games.

I am glad that the team that we backed without my knowledge is doing well. Much like the soccer around world cup time, I am happy to jump on any bandwagon if we are doing well.

Team Alliance aren't actually doing that well but they aren't out yet. They are top 12 though! There is a big match for them tonight at about 10pm. Its Alliance VS Navi.

Navi are who Alliance beat in the 2013 International grand finals, which is widely considered the best series of Dota ever played(a "series" being a best of 3 or best of 5). Navi are the winners of the first ever international back in 2011.

So its the classic rival match and its going to be a good one. A best of 3 with the loser going home and the winner going into the top 8 which will secure them at least $100,000 and the loser $45,000.

Here is the current standings:

It can** be a bit tricky to understand but the top pyramid is the upper bracket and the bottom the lower bracket (fairly simple so far) If you lose in the upper bracket you drop to the lower bracket. So once you are in the lower bracket you lose a series and you go home! So Navi lost 2-0 to OG and dropped to the lower bracket where they VS Team Alliance (outlined in red). This means being in the upper bracket gives you the safety of being able to lose a game but still win the tournament!

Get hyped people!

Did you not read my post?! Alliance are the winners of the 2013 International. The were THE best in the world a few years ago. Last years champion is already out of this tournament! EG won The International in 2015 and they came dead last in this tournament. The RtD Dota 2 team knows what they are doing Shrive!!

Aaaand they got knocked out last night... hahaha Well its time to start going for the back up RtD endorsed team, OG!

OG have Miracle. Probably the best player in the entire world.

Why we werent backing them from the start you ask? Good Question! Coz screw you that's why! Maybe if you spent more time watching pro dota you would understand!

For those RtD members interested as I know there are many. The Boston Major is coming up. Its a 3 million dollar tournament. it will be one of the biggest Dota events this year.

You can read about it here: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Boston_Major/2016

For the RtD Team Formally named Team 17% (You would understand if you played the game!). Our endorsement is currently with Evil Geniuses. They came 3rd at TI6, they are the winners of TI5 in 2015. Our backup will be OG. They were our TI6 backup team as well.

"Why are we not just going for the team that won TI6?" you ask. Well Wings Gaming are a Chinese team and therefore I don't really know any of their players very well. The Chinese scene isn't amazing at the moment with the exception of Wings. Wings are awesome to watch as they have an ability to choose their own meta and dominate with it. However whilst they are an extremely strong team I do not think they will be consistent enough to take 2 events in a row. In fact The only team to have won more than 1 Valve hosted event are OG.

Then why not go for the team that came second at TI6?? That would be Digital Chaos. I do like Digital Chaos. But they kicked a key player and gained a bit of a wild card with Moonmeader becoming their offlaner over Moo. Moo was instrumental in their victory over EG at TI6 yet the captain, Misery, decided to kick him after TI6. They have some amazing players as well as a great back story. They are a team born from the ashes of broken dreams and shattered trust and somehow it works! However they are yet to prove themselves with their updated roster and endorsing them is too greater risk currently.

"But I just looked at EG's profile they had a roster change after TI6 as well!". True EG did change their roster however their new lineup has proven itself to be looking in amazing form after MDL which they won. The new players are all veterans with RTZ rejoining EG and Crit taking the captaincy they are looking in fine form and will probably be favorites to win the tourney. They also didn't kick anyone from the team this year. Everyone who left did so on their own accord to retire and are still either a coach or manager for the team.

"We ended up endorsing the backup team at TI6 why not just start with the backup team?". Well OG had a very big roster shuffle. They lost their rock with Crit moving to EG. They lost their rising star with Miracle- moving to Team Liquid (who didnt even qualify for this tourney) and they lost their meme factor with Moonmeader moving to DC. The players they picked up are Jerax into the support role who is top 3 support players in the world. They picked up Ana who is an Aussie!!! Yes they have an Australian. One of the two Aussies who are known in the pro scene. Who will be playing the Mid role and they picked up S4 who will be playing offlane. S4 is NOT an offlaner. He is a Mid player, one of the best in the world. His Mid role play-maker abilities are nothing short of legendary however they are giving the young hotshot Ana the Mid role. This combination has the potential to do well but has yet to be proven. They are our backup mostly due to Ana being Australian.

In other news all those with the Fall Compendium the 2nd treasure was released and oh my golly gosheronies the extremely rare Juggernaut set is nothing short of a-fucking-mazing. If I wasn't coming to PAX I would probably spend all that money on treasures to try get that set.

Also we are looking for players for Team 17%. The current roster is a few players short of a team. We are currently selecting the team on a First Come First Served basis...
