LiquidPurple 19 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 http://www.brinkthegame.com/ FEATURES Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind's last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nC2kcS-C6E Not Just Another Hero Brink's advanced player customization offers a near-endless combination of looks for your character - allowing for the appearance of your character to be truly unique. As you progress through the game and acquire more experience, you'll have even more opportunities for customization. Two Sides to Every Story Choose to fight through two complete story campaigns as either a member of the Resistance or Security. Experience these campaigns solo, co-operatively, or competively - it's your choice. Blurring the Lines Take your unique character online at any time you choose. Brink allows you to seamlessly move between single player, co-op with friends, and intense multiplayer action. Multiplayer takes the story online where you can play with up to seven other people (or AI characters) cooperatively as you take on the opposing faction or with up to 16 players competitively. Play SMART Brink uses the familiar shooter controls that you're used to and adds a new feature: the SMART button. When you hold down the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you're trying to get to, and makes it happen. Whether you're a seasoned FPS veteran or someone just getting started, you'll be able to make more intelligent decisions during the fast-paced action with SMART. http://www.brinkthegame.com/features/freedom/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXWV8N4yBLY Context-Sensitive Goals and Rewards Objectives, communications, missions, and inventory selection are all dynamically generated based on your role, your condition, your location, your squad-mates, and the overall status of the battle in all gameplay modes. You'll always know exactly where to go, what to do when you get there, and what your reward will be for success. http://www.brinkthegame.com/features/teamplay/ Go to top Share this post Link to post

bprc 1,441 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 $90 on Steam for Aus and $50 for the US! That blows big time. playasia and ozgameshop have it for under $50 but it won't ship until the end of May. Game looks great. I'm interested to see how the 'special' button works out. Makes me think everyone will be just mashing the smart button all the time. Go to top Share this post Link to post
VambracE 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 Yeah I pre-ordered it back when it was $50 Aus Go to top Share this post Link to post

VambracE 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 Steam. When it was first on pre-order on steam it was $50. I figured they would probably put the price up when it got close to release time. Go to top Share this post Link to post
VambracE 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2011 Some awesome videos of Brink in action... For those of you not wanting to fork out $90 for it on steam, its going for $36.99 here: http://www.ozgameshop.com/pc-games/brink-game-pc Go to top Share this post Link to post

VambracE 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2011 Yeah Ozgameshop copy will be late. You can also get it from here: http://www.thehut.com/games/platforms/p ... 72700.html which says it will have it delivered ON the release date, but that might only be for the Brits, not sure. I'd say it would be faster than Ozgameshop though. Go to top Share this post Link to post
LiquidPurple 19 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 A review of the XBox360 version on gamespot: http://au.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/brink/review.html 6/10 does not bode well for the PC version. The Good Diverse array of class abilities Movement mechanics mix things up Stylish character customization Multiplayer matches can be intense and exciting. The Bad Online games regularly suffer lag AI allies and enemies are erratic and unrealistic Visual shortcomings make enemies blurry Movement inconsistency is frustrating Only eight core maps. Vulcan 98 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 Yeah Ozgameshop copy will be late. always are, thats the trade off for paying less looking at recent reviews, looks like its pretty much fail :S sad really, was looking forward to it. even recent gameplay looks...meh Go to top Share this post Link to post

VambracE 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 I've read a few reports of console issues, but a few mates have played the PC version and love it. Go to top Share this post Link to post
Migit 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 i've seen a few reviews suggesting that PC had a release date patch for most of the graphics stuff. Don;t actualy have a copy to know for sure though. Anybody actually got a copy yet? the games ideas have got me very interested, but i'd like to hear from someoen how they've actually been implemented Go to top Share this post Link to post
VambracE 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2011 I've been playing it today and LOVE it. Very team focused, if you go off on your own CoD style, you won't score high. Theres no KDR stats for objective mode so the incentive is there to complete team objectives. Runs very smooth for me on my GTX 580, although I have heard some people with ATI cards are having issues. Go to top Share this post Link to post
Migit 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2011 so the team based stuff actually works? a to say ts what got me interested (since i used to love tf2), but i figured everyone would probably just go maverick anyway Go to top Share this post Link to post
Phreaker 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2011 would be keen to hear how the multiplayer holds up as this sounds like a game i would really enjoy! Go to top Share this post Link to post
